Have available an illustration team or vendors trained in S1000D media standards.
Confirm all vector formats (e.g. CGM, SVG) are available or convertible.
Use consistent illustration naming and reference conventions.
Confirm all media can be linked and reused within XML content.

Establish a complete inventory of legacy documentation.
