Challenge
ASSA ABLOY is a global manufacturer of door opening solutions. Using the latest technologies, ASSA ABLOY develops doors for hospitals, homes, hotels, airports, and more.
With hundreds of products, developed and managed by many different departments, ASSA ABLOY found it difficult to develop catalogs for their product offerings. They did not have the resources and expertise to complete the catalogs in a timely and efficient manner.
Solution
ASSA ABLOY had previously worked with Contiem to develop installation manuals and user guides. They were impressed by the efficiency with which Contiem completed the work and the quality of work that was produced.
Contiem quickly identified what content was missing and how to improve the content as well as update the template to highlight the product images and enhance the presentation. The glass catalog project relied heavily on the Contiem technical illustrators and technical writers to maintain the consistency, look and feel throughout the catalog.
Many of the products did not have the necessary photos and required Contiem to work with ASSA ABLOY to gather the information to develop the content. Requesting or gathering content can sometimes be a challenge, but Contiem easily overcame the challenge with the use of very concise, consolidated questions and action items.
Rather than submitting a continuous stream of questions, photo requirements, requests for information, and files through multiple emails or phone calls, Contiem developed three consolidated rounds of action items, making it easier for the main point of contact to quickly understand the need and immediately follow through.
Result
Contiem decreased the number of review cycles, which reduced both the cost and timeframe required to develop the catalog. The final product was very well received internally by ASSA ABLOY as well as their customers and vendors.
ASSA ABLOY appreciated the process and the final product catalog, and they have partnered with Contiem to develop new catalogs and to update past catalogs to the new standards.
